       To insure a quality, professional, and "like new" finish, preparation of the surface to be refinished is extensive. First any caulking is removed and than the surface is chemically cleaned and sanded to insure absolute cleanliness and the surface finish will accept the new surface. Repairs are made to all chips and scratches; smoothing rough surfaces; grout repair (as in ceramic tile); reinforcing fiberglass shower and bathtub bases (where little structure support was installed initially); fiberglass repair in the case of stress cracks and chips; minor Formica repair and any other repairs that are needed to bring the surface as close to the original condition as possible.

       Customers can save up to 70% of replacement costs by resurfacing. This is due to the high cost of hiring a variety of contractors needed to perform a replacement job as well as the cost of a new fixture. For example, to replace a bathtub, a plumber would have to come in to disconnect and then reconnect the plumbing. Removal would probably include the removal or partial destruction of any surround and most likely sheetrock behind. The floor could be damaged including floor covering.
